Basic Housekeeping

  • Your accommodation is thoughtfully arranged in a farmhouse inside a picturesque village, not a conventional hotel, resort, or professional homestay. Kindly show respect to your host and the amenities provided in their home.
  • Keep in mind that this is a small village, so exhibit respect for the residents, their culture, and customs. People in the farmhouse mostly speak Kannada with manageable English. There are pets living in the farmhouse.
  • Although the hosts are friendly, they may not have professional hospitality training. Your support and acknowledgment of their efforts are highly appreciated.
  • Obtain permission before plucking any plants, flowers or fruits from the farms.
  • Refrain from entering neighboring private agriculture farms, even if they lack fencing.
  • When exploring the wilderness, always adhere to the instructions provided by forest guides. Strictly follow the guidelines to ensure your safety and the safety of others.
  • Please do not feed, tease or intimidate wildlife. When in the forest, you MUST remain inside your safari vehicle at all times.
  • You are responsible for your belongings including gadgets and cameras.
  • Please bring your towels and toiletries.
  • Given the colder temperatures during early mornings and nights, pack light to moderate winter clothing for your comfort.
  • It is recommended to pack following:
    • Water bottle
    • Comfortable walking shoes
    • Crew-length socks
    • Nose mask
    • A torch or headlamp
    • Insect repellent
    • High-energy snacks
    • Basic medicines
  • Wildlife sightings depend on various factors beyond our control and hence, can’t be guaranteed.
  • There could be changes in the safari schedule mentioned in the itinerary as a result of external factors.
  • The morning safaris start at 6:30 am. We will leave from homestay a minimum 45 minutes before the safari timings. Seat numbers are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis at the counter, which opens 30 minutes prior to the safari.
  • The safari duration is 2:30 hours on weekdays and 1:30 hours on weekends/holidays.
  • Safari timings are strictly enforced by the forest department. They will not wait for latecomers. Safari costs paid in advance are non-refundable.
  • Please note, the safari point is a 15-minute drive from the homestay. There’s no way you can reach the safari point on your own if you don’t get up early and be ready by the time we leave.
  • I am a wildlife photographer and I would be happy to share some tips and tricks with those who are interested.

About Me

Hi,

I’m Rahul, a travel blogger and wildlife photographer hailing from the vibrant city of Bangalore.

Having personally traveled to 62 countries and meticulously planned each journey, I understand the trials and tribulations of travelers. With Turuhi, I aspire to address the needs of explorers like you, offering guidance, insight, and the opportunity to savor the very essence of travel at its best.

I’m not one to boast, but when individuals read my travel blogs, they often express feelings as if I have personally transported them to those destinations. They sense a distinctive perspective on travel that sparks their imaginations and inspires them to go on similar journeys. They often ask if they can join me on my journeys.

Travel is a highly personalized experience, and unless you’re accompanied by like-minded individuals, the true essence of the journey can be elusive. So, I contemplated inviting like-minded individuals and families to accompany me on select trips, thus creating the concept of “Travel with me.” The idea stems from a genuine desire to connect with fellow wanderers who share a common passion for exploration.
